Tbilisi -> Gudauri -> Kazbegi -> Lopota – 10 Days

Tbilisi -> Gudauri -> Kazbegi -> Lopota – 10 Days

Price: From $1370

Ten days across four strong bases: Tbilisi, two mountain stays (Gudauri + Kazbegi), then a relaxed finish in Kakheti at Lopota — private driver throughout.

What’s included: Private driver • Car + fuel • Daily route planning • Pick-up & drop-off
What’s not included: Hotels • Meals • Entry tickets • Attractions (paid locally)

This is the “do it properly” version. You start in Tbilisi, go up to the mountains for Gudauri and Kazbegi, and finish in Kakheti at Lopota to slow down at the end. Ten days gives you room to actually enjoy each base instead of doing one-night stops and living out of a suitcase.

A simple default split is Tbilisi (3 nights) → Gudauri (2 nights) → Kazbegi (2 nights) → Lopota (3 nights), but it’s flexible.

Exploring Tbilisi

With three nights in Tbilisi, you can keep it balanced. You’ll have time for the main city areas — Old Town streets, viewpoints, river walks, good food — without trying to cram everything into one day.

And since you’re based here longer, you can use Tbilisi the way people actually use it: as a base for day trips. Kakheti is an easy one if you want a change of scenery early in the trip. You can also do nearby historic places, or go out for a mountain-view day without committing to the full mountain stay yet. If you’re up for a bigger day, you can go as far as Uplistsikhe or even Vardzia — it’s a long day, but it’s doable with a private driver and good pacing.

So the Tbilisi part can be city-focused, or city + a couple of short adventures, depending on what you want.

Moving into Gudauri

After the city days, you head into the mountains. This drive is part of the fun — the scenery gets better as you climb, and you can stop whenever you want. You’re not stuck on someone else’s schedule.

Gudauri works as the first mountain base because it’s comfortable and easy. You settle in, take in the views, and adjust the plan based on weather and season.

Gudauri as a Mountain Base

Gudauri gives you that resort-style mountain stay. In winter it’s the obvious choice for snow and ski days. In warmer months, it’s more about clean air, views, and easy scenic drives.

Because you’re staying here, you can keep days flexible. If you want an active day, you can do it. If you want a slower day, you can do that too — and still feel like you experienced the mountains properly.

Moving to Kazbegi

Then you go deeper into the mountain scenery and base in Kazbegi. This is usually the part people remember most visually. The valleys are wider, the backdrop feels bigger, and the classic viewpoints are exactly what most visitors want to see.

Again, the private car makes the whole thing smoother: you stop for photos, take breaks when you want, and you don’t have to rush because someone else is waiting.

Kazbegi Days

Kazbegi is best when you don’t try to make it “busy.” You do the iconic scenery, take your time, enjoy the views, and let the day breathe a bit. If the weather is clear, it’s incredible. If it’s cloudy, you adjust and keep it relaxed — that’s the advantage of having time and flexibility in a ten-day trip.

Finishing in Lopota (Kakheti)

After the mountains, Lopota is the perfect finish. The whole point is to slow down. You’ve already done the biggest scenery and the city days, so the end of the trip should feel like a break, not another sprint.

Lopota is also a great base for light Kakheti exploring if you want it. You can go out for a few hours, see nearby areas, then return and enjoy the resort-style pace. Or you can do almost nothing and just rest — both versions fit.

Evenings & Food

This trip gives you four different types of nights: lively Tbilisi evenings, quiet mountain evenings in Gudauri and Kazbegi, and then calm, comfortable nights in Kakheti. It’s a good rhythm for ten days because it naturally gets slower as the trip goes on, which is what most people want once they’ve been traveling for a week.

What’s Included

This package includes private driver service, a comfortable vehicle, flexible daily planning, and pickup and drop-off coordination. Accommodation, meals, attractions, and entry tickets are not included in the base price.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included. Guests can book hotels independently or request assistance with hotel arrangements so that everything is coordinated before arrival. Many travelers prefer this option for a smoother experience.

Who This Trip Is For

This is for people who want the full Georgia experience without feeling like they’re racing through it. You get proper time in the capital, real mountain bases, and a relaxing Kakheti finish. Great for couples, small groups, and anyone who prefers a trip that feels smooth and well-paced rather than packed and exhausting.
